Banner Lassen Medical Center Wins Best Nursing Team Award

Banner Lassen Medical Center was featured on the May 2 cover story of ADVANCE for Nurses news magazine. The issue featured the 'Best Nursing Team' contest winners. Each winning team was introduced and acknowledged for the truly exceptional work they do. Banner Lassen Medical Center won for "Best Team in a Small Facility" and was nominated by Sarah North, Infusion Center coordinator.

Judges, nurses who are experts in the field, read the entries and scored them based on eight specific criteria. Here is what they had to say about the nursing team in the BLMC Infusion Center. "They say great things come in small packages. This couldn't be any truer when you're talking about the 4-RN team in the Infusion Center at Banner Lassen Medical Center – winner in the Best Team in a Small Facility category. Despite its small size, the team wears many hats, caring for multiple types of patients at various ages with multiple health issues. But that's not all.  Assisting in other departments when their department is slow, improving documentation, developing innovative strategies to reduce expenses, mentoring high school students and LVN's and pursuing continued education are all examples of how this small team is making big strides in teamwork, initiatives, recruitment efforts and most importantly high quality patient care!"
