Family Centered Patient Care
Our Surgical Care staff focuses on a proactive approach to quality patient care that includes communication and education. From the time the patient begins preparing for surgery through the time the patient is recovering, our team involves family members in discussions about care and treatment. Our goal is to help ease any anxiety a patient may have.
Surgical Area
The departments that make up our Surgical Care Area include the pre-op holding unit, the operating rooms, the post-anesthesia care unit (PACU) and the sterile processing unit. The caregivers who comprise these units are involved collaboratively with each other and with the surgeons, Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist and other healthcare professionals to provide the best surgical experience possible.
Pain Management
It is likely the patient will experience some discomfort following their surgical procedure. There are many methods available to keep pain levels to an acceptable level, allowing the patient to rest and participate in therapy, as necessary. Please discuss these options with the surgeon and Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist and review our additional information on pain management.
