At Banner Lassen Medical Center, we encourage all women to make breast health a priority.
With early detection, breast cancer can be cured. The odds of catching the disease early increases dramatically when you combine self -breast exams and regularly scheduled mammograms.
Our medical imaging department provides the latest in breast health technology with 2D digital mammography.This allows for enhanced image clarity with less radiation and shorter exam times. When further imaging of breast tissue is required, a breast ultrasound may be ordered, which uses sound waves to provide electronic images.
A breast MRI may also be ordered for a second look or to take a closer look at dense breast tissue. Should a lump be detected, a breast biopsy will remove part or all of the mass, which will be sent to the laboratory for evaluation. The results will help your health care provider determine if further treatment is required.
