Nearly 200 people attended the ceremonial groundbreaking event held on Oct. 2, 2013, for Banner Fort Collins Medical Center.
Attendees cheered as Peter Fine, Banner Health Chief Executive Officer, and Rick Sutton, Banner Health CEO for the Northern Colorado Service Area, removed a veil from the sign revealing the name of the new facility.
At the groundbreaking ceremony, the winner of the naming survey drawing was announced. Joleen Wearne of Fort Collins, received a $50 gift card for her participation. Residents in Fort Collins and Windsor were surveyed to determine their thoughts about possible names for Banner's new hospital and to share their own ideas. Those who participated were eligible for the drawing. Joleen asked that the gift card be donated to the McKee Medical Center Foundation to be used to help others.
