Testimonials
Read what people say about the Stepping Stones Adult Day Program at McKee Medical Center:
"Stepping Stones has been a lifesaver for me. I have several disabilities - one of which is chronic major depression. When I was blessed to enter Stepping Stones five years ago, I was at my lowest. The staff treated me with compassion, kindness, understanding and respect. No one thought it was strange that a 47-year-old woman was bringing a teddy bear with her. When they saw me carrying a teddy bear, the knew I was having an especially bad day.
"I had lost my career as an IT (infomation technology) manager. Instead of old skill sets, God provided me with a new one - watercolor painting. The program 'Memories in the Making' has been the spring board to my confidence in this new creative ability. Painting at Stepping Stones has helped me work through some difficult feelings and brings me to a place of hope. Every year, I donate these paintings to the Alzheimer's Association which provides me with a sense of worth and accomplishment. My biggest fans and encouragement come from the staff and clients at Stepping Stones.
"Receiving and giving hugs with my friends at Stepping Stones is the highlight of my day. Sharing memories with the other participants and holding hands is symbolic of the love that abounds in this homey environment."
- Katrinka Morse, participant
"Our household is eternally grateful for the experience and sensitive staff. I believe Stepping Stones was specifically designed to improve the lives of their participants and the care providers involved. And they have proven it - over and over. Without Stepping Stones, life would be an even harder path to follow."

"For two years now, the people and programs of the Stepping Stones Adult Day Program have been essential in providing a fuller and more balanced life for my mother who is afflicted with Alzheimer's disease. Here, Dorothy can interact and feel comfortable as with old friends and family. Outlets for this social side of my mother - always a large part of her life and character - have otherwise been stripped from her by Alzheimer's.
"When Dorothy is at Stepping Stones, I know without qualm or doubt that she is in appropriate activities under excellent hands and loving hearts. This has been of great relief to me. I couldn't do without it! The steady and committed staff shows the right balance of professionalism and individual concern.
"To each one of the Stepping Stones staff, my thanks to you for your personal daily dedication as well as team spirit in making this exceptional program for our community."
