Support & Education
McKee Medical Center understands the importance of a strong support system and provides an array of support and education resources to help orthopedic patients feel confident that they are receiving excellent medical care.
To ensure patients are comfortable with both their diagnosis and proposed treatment, the hospital offers a free Total Joint Education class for patients preparing to undergo total knee and/or total hip replacement surgery.
- Total Joint Education: Instructors will cover everything from what equipment a patient will need after surgery to how much pain to expect. Classes are held on Thursdays from 3 to 4 p.m.
- Osteoporosis Bone Density: With the help of low-cost ultrasound screening, staff can determine if a person is at risk for the development of osteoporosis. Early detection is the key in prevention and treatment of this disease.
