Preparing for Surgery
At McKee Medical Center, we understand there are many details to address when planning for surgery. Please don’t hesitate to contact us with any questions.
Patients will receive a Welcome to the Surgical Unit letter with information about surgical services and McKee Medical Center. The patient’s surgeon’s office will schedule surgery and the surgeon may order appropriate pre-procedure tests. These may include blood tests, X-ray and/or an EKG.
Planning for discharge is just as important as planning for admission. We will work with patients during their stay to meet any discharge needs. Please let us know of any concerns.
Family-Centered Patient Care
Our Surgical Care staff focuses on a proactive approach to quality patient care that includes communication and education. From the time the patient begins preparing for surgery through the time the patient is recovering, our team involves family members in discussions about care and treatment, to help ease any anxiety a patient may have.
McKee Medical Center's Surgical Services professionals, together with our orthopedic surgeons provide comprehensive, state-of-the-art care for patients who have chosen to have knee replacement surgery, which is one of our specialties.
