daVinci® si Surgical System
Banner Health uses this system, which allows the surgeon to work with four interactive robotic arms along with a high-performance vision system to perform surgeries.
The surgeon's fingers grasp the master controls below the display and the system translates the surgeon's hand, wrist and finger movements into precise, real-time movements of surgical instruments inside the patient.
The robot's long, spindly arms can easily get into hard-to-reach areas and make dime-sized incisions. The robotic surgical system cannot be programmed, nor can it make decisions on its own.
McKee Medical Center is one of two hospitals in Colorado and the only one on the Front Range to use the daVinci SI model.
