2009 Turkey Trot Volunteer Opportunities
ALL VOLUNTEERS RECIEVE A T-SHIRT.
Below are descriptions of the volunteer position for the 2009 Turkey Trot at NCMC. Please review the descriptions and decide on your top two choices. Then go to the online Volunteer Registration site.
Race day:
Volunteer sign-in will be inside the NCMC east lobby. Volunteers are welcome to attend post-race activities held at the east end of the NCMC campus. Hot beverages and snacks will be available before and after the race. We regret that pets cannot attend due to liability reasons.
Parking Assistants
Time: 7:45-9 a.m.
Location: Outdoors on the north corners of the parking garage
Instructions: Check in at Volunteer Sign-In. You will be given your sign and location at that time.
Course Marshalls
Time: 7:45-9 a.m.
Location: Outdoors at various spots along the course
Description: Be on the race course to provide support, safety and encouragement to racers.
What to bring: Wear warm clothing and bring a cell phone if you have one.
Instructions: Go to Volunteer Sign-In, then proceed to the Banner Bistro. You will be given a specific course assignment and map. You may drive to your course location or walk. Families are welcome. Children must remain with a responsible adult. We make every effort to place family members near each other on the course. Please complete volunteer registration for each family member.
Finish Line
Time: 8:15-10:30 a.m.
Location: Outdoors at the finish line
Description: Agile, detail-oriented persons needed to remove tags from racers' bibs as they cross the finish line. No children please.
Instructions: Go to Volunteer Sign-In, then proceed to the 5K finish line east of the employee parking garage. You will be given specific on-site instructions.
Clean Up
Time: 10:30-11:30 a.m.
Location: Indoors and outdoors
Description: People needed to assist with moving signs, food and other miscellaneous items indoors.
Instructions: Check in at the Information Table at the NCMC east entrance where you will be given specific instructions.
