Banner Health lifts visitor restrictions at all facilities
2014-2015 cold and flu season starts to wind down
PHOENIX (April 1, 2015) – As the flu and cold season winds down, Banner Health has lifted visitor restrictions at all of its facilities. Restrictions for the 2014-2015 cold and flu season were implemented last Oct. 1; a little earlier than expected because of the outbreak of Enterovirus D68 across the nation.

Truven Health Analytics honors two Banner Health hospitals as being among the nation’s best

PHOENIX (Nov. 18, 2014) – The Joint Commission, the leading accreditor of health care organizations in the United States, has announced that nine Banner Health hospitals in three states have been recognized as a 2013 Top Performer on Key Quality Measures®. These Banner facilities were recognized as part of The Joint Commission’s 2014 annual report “America’s Hospitals: Improving Quality and Safety,” for attaining and sustaining excellence in accountability measure performance for Heart Attack, Heart Failure, Pneumonia and/or Surgical Care. The Banner facilities are among 1,224 hospitals in the United States to achieve the 2013 Top Performer distinction.

Two Banner Health hospitals in Colorado earn ‘A’ scores for patient safety  
(Nov. 3, 2014) – North Colorado Medical Center (NCMC) in Greeley and McKee Medical Center in Loveland received  top “A” grades for patient safety from The Leapfrog Group, an independent industry watchdog which on Wednesday released its Fall 2014 Hospital Safety Score. The score rates how hospitals protect patients from errors, injuries and infections.

North Colorado Medical Center hosts annual Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day event

2013 Turkey Trot has another record-setting year

GREELEY, CO (Dec. 3, 2013) – The 16th annual Turkey Trot, presented by Noble Energy, attracted a record 3,762 participants and raised over $50,000, outpacing the 3,302 who participated in the event in 2012.

North Colorado Med Evac adds third helicopter
New Bell 407 aircraft to be located in Eastern Colorado
DALLAS, TX (November 6, 2013) -- Med-Trans Corp. and North Colorado Medical Center (NCMC), a Banner Health facility, have announced the expansion of its North Colorado Med Evac air medical transport program with the addition of a third Bell 407 medical helicopter. The aircraft and medical flight crew will be based at the Colorado Plains Regional Airport (Akron, CO) and begin operation 24-hours a day, seven days a week effective January 16, 2014.

Banner reorganizes area leadership team

(Sept. 25, 2013) – Banner Health announced today a change in its leadership structure for northern Colorado, naming North Colorado Medical Center Chief Executive Officer Rick Sutton to chief executive officer of Banner’s northern Colorado operations. North Colorado Medical Center asks for blood donations
GREELEY, Colo. (Sept. 17, 2012) — North Colorado Medical Center’s Blood Donor Center is asking for community help to fill a critical blood supply need. A trio of traumas over the weekend depleted supply by half, said Blood Donor Center community outreach coordinator Andrea Hawkins. In addition, the hospital has seen an increase in the number of vehicle accidents, surgeries and other traumas in recent weeks. The center typically collects about 200 units each week.

GREELEY, Colo. (Sept. 13, 2012) – Nurses from North Colorado Medical Center’s Emergency Department now offer around-the-clock specialty care for sexual assault victims.The Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner Team, also referred to as the SANE Team, is a group of eight experienced registered nurses who have received specialized training and provide compassionate care to adult, adolescent and pediatric patients impacted by sexual assault and abuse.

Nine Banner Health clinics to participate in health care reform initiative
LOVELAND Colo.(Aug. 23, 2012) – Nine Banner Health Clinics in Northern Colorado join 500 primary care practices selected for participation in a national primary care initiative. The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services Innovation Center chose providers for the Comprehensive Primary Care initiative. The 500 practices represent more than 2,000 primary care doctors and nurse practitioners in seven markets across the country.

Two Banner Health clinics in Windsor consolidate  
WINDSOR, Colo. (May 24, 2012) – Banner Health will merge two medical clinics in Windsor later this summer to achieve efficiencies and improve access to services for residents there. The move will result in the closing of Banner Medical Clinic—Highland Meadows.

North Colorado Medical Center Among HealthGrades America’s 100 Best Hospitals  
March 20, 2012 – North Colorado Medical Center, a Banner Health facility, announced today that its superior clinical quality has placed it among an elite group of U.S. hospitals: HealthGrades America’s 100 Best Hospitals. To be recognized with this distinction, hospitals must have had risk-adjusted mortality and complication rates that were in the top 5 percent in the nation for a minimum of four years studied. On average, patients treated at America’s 100 Best Hospitals had nearly a 30 percent lower risk of death.

CEO to leave Sterling Regional for NCMC
STERLING, Colo. (March 14, 2012) – Michelle Joy, chief executive officer (CEO) for Sterling Regional MedCenter , will leave that position effective Monday, April 16, to assume a senior leadership role in another Banner Health facility in Colorado, announced Jim Ferando, Banner Health’s Western Region president.

Banner Health/North Colorado Medical Center begins west Greeley emergency department expansion preparation
March 8, 2012 – North Colorado Medical Center, a Banner Health facility, has nearly completed the interior demolition phase on the facility to be used for extension of emergency department services to west Greeley. The service will be located in the building adjacent to the Summit View Urgent Care Center at 2001 70th Ave. in west Greeley.  Renovation and re-construction on the 11,000-square foot area will begin upon receipt of building permits later in March. The project is valued at $5.9 million.

NCMC to extend ED services to Summit View campus 
Jan. 24, 2012 — Banner Health has begun efforts to develop Summit View Medical Commons into a larger health center that will provide broader services, anchored by an extension of the North Colorado Medical Center’s Emergency Center. This Emergency Department service will be staffed by certified emergency physicians from the same group that provides emergency physician care and management at NCMC. The NCMC ED service at Summit View is anticipated to be available this summer for west Greeley, Windsor and other residents.

Jan. 19, 2012 – Sixteen Banner Health facilities including three in Northern Colorado have been acknowledged by HIMSS Analytics, a wholly owned nonprofit subsidiary of the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society, for achieving Stage 6 of electronic medical records adoption.

New human resource leader joins North Colorado Medical Center
