Programs

happy family

At North Colorado Medical Center, we offer a number of adult outpatient programs to help individuals and families gain insight and skills.

  • Individual, couples and family therapy:  Patients address mutually identified goals while meeting with their own therapist at arranged intervals (usually  weekly, or according to patient need).  We serve children ages 5 and up as well as adults.

  •  Adult Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP):  Therapist-led groups emphasize personal insight, interpersonal skills development, and coping skills education.  Topics and approaches are adapted to meet participant's needs.
    • May be helpful for people who temporarily need greater support than what is offered by weekly individual therapy.
    • May also be a first-stage intervention for those beginning substance-abuse treatment.
    • Entrance into program is based on review of an individual’s current circumstances on a case-by-case basis.
    •  This program meets three evenings per week.

  • LINKS (Local Integrated Network of Knowledge and Success):  Facilitator-led classes that provide community members with support and education around specific topics. Topics range from lifestyle factors for achieving stable mental health; to developing and maintaining positive coping skills and enhancing relationships.  The goal of each class is to integrate handouts, education, and honest discussion to help participants find solutions in their own lives.
    •   LINKS classes are not covered by insurance.
    •  They are open to all individuals and cost is $5 per class.
    •  Classes are held Wednesdays 5:45-7:15 p.m. and Thursdays 8:45-10 a.m.
    •  Every third Wednesday of the month is Family LINKS Class, when participants are encouraged to be joined by family members interested in their success.
    • Inquiries about LINKS classes can be made by phoning Christie Benjamin at (970) 336-4925, Maureen Crawford at (970) 336-4957 or Frank Nemeth at (970) 336-4966.

  •  Medication group:  Medication group provides a support service and medication-related counseling for individuals taking behavioral or psychiatric medications.
    • Each group is led by a member of our medical staff who can prescribe and monitor medications, and also includes education on diagnosis and pertinent medication topics.
    • Cost is $20 per person each group.
    • This service is made available for those who do not currently have health insurance coverage.
    • Please direct inquiries about medication group to Christie Benjamin at (970) 336-4925, Maureen Crawford at (970) 336-4957 or Frank Nemeth at (970) 336-4966.
