Suicide affects us all at times: knowledge and feeling prepared takes away some of the fear of not knowing what do if you or someone else, is experiencing suicidal thoughts or feelings.

If you need help for yourself or someone else:

  • Talk with your family doctor, a mental health professional, or a spiritual leader
  • Contact a support/crisis service:

  • Call to request a welfare check on someone else. Law enforcement can assess if a person is safe or needs to be brought to the hospital for further evaluation and/or treatment.  The dispatcher will ask you who you are, your relation to the person, information about them, and why you are concerned.  You can call local dispatch and they will help alert authorities in another town/area if needed.
