NCMC Blood Donor Center
(970) 350-6100

The North Colorado Blood Donor Center originated in Weld County General Hospital in the 1950's. Back then, we drew approximately 2,000 units of blood per year.
As this community has grown, so has the need for blood. Today, Donor Center professionals draw blood from approximately 9,000 donors per year, and we expect that number to increase significantly as our population changes.

We are located on the first floor of the main hospital campus at North Colorado Medical Center, 1801 16th Street in Greeley.

Our Professionals
Eleven highly-trained and experienced donor professionals staff the hospital Donor Center and travel to numerous locations throughout Northern Colorado in our blood mobile unit (a very comfortable Airstream Motor Coach generously provided by the NCMC Foundation). Blood is collected under the direction of Joe Chaffin, MD, a board-certified Blood Banking and Transfusion Medicine specialist.
Guidelines
We adhere to strict regulations and guidelines set by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the American Association of Blood Banks (AABB) and the College of American Pathologists (CAP). These guidelines for acceptance or deferral of the donor are set up not only for the protection of the patient receiving the blood, but also for the health and comfort of the donor.
Giving blood is a wonderful act of sharing and we strive to make the experience as pleasant as possible. Please call us for questions at (970) 350-6100.
