Blood Chemistry Instructions
If you are planning to participate in the Blood Chemistry Analysis Blood Screening (Chem-24), remember that you should fast for at least 10-12 hours, but no more than 16 hours prior to your scheduled appointment. During the fasting period, drink plenty of water and take all prescribed medications. Avoid excessive exercise prior to your blood draw appointment. Contact your physician with any medical concerns regarding fasting. After your blood draw, complimentary snacks will be provided for you.
Fasting is not required for the CBC, PSA or hs-CRP Blood Screenings.
Participants With Diabetes
If you have diabetes and will be having your blood chemistry analysis done, please eat normally and take all medications, including any diabetic medications. Do not fast! Your test results may show elevated levels of glucose, cholesterol and triglycerides due to non-fasting.
You should drink plenty of water to avoid dehydration! After the blood draw, complimentary snacks are provided for you.
We encourage all of our health fair participants to share the results of your blood screening with your physician during your next annual appointment.
Results will be mailed to you in 1-2 weeks.
If you do not receive your results within two weeks, please call (970) 350-6633.
If any of your screenings result in an abnormal range, you will be referred to your own physician or another physician if you do not have your own.
If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment more than 24 hours ahead, please call (970) 350-6633.
