What is Endocrinology?
Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism is the study and treatment of the glands, hormones and related disorders, including diabetes and thyroid disease.
The North Colorado Medical Center Endocrinology Clinic specializes in diabetes, thyroid, pituitary, adrenal and metabolic disorders.
A team approach to diabetes or gestational diabetes is available, consisting of physicians, a nurse practitioner, certified diabetic educators, and a nutritionist who provide individual management and classes. Diabetes and related conditions such as metabolic syndrome, weight management, cholesterol abnormalities and high blood pressure are also addressed. An informed and educated diabetic patient has the ability to control their disease in an optimal manner.
In addition, disorders of the pancreas, pituitary gland, ovaries, testes, thyroid and adrenal glands are also managed in an endocrinology clinic. Thyroid diseases such as hypothyroidism, hyperthyroidism, thyroid nodules and thyroid cancers are diagnosed and treated.
