The CardioVascular Institute is furnished with state-of-the-art equipment, and the intensive care specialists focus on providing the most advanced and compassionate care during difficult times.
Each room is acuity adaptable, meaning no matter the patients' condition - from chest pains to recovery from open heart surgery - specialized equipment and highly trained staff are available to ensure the best possible outcomes.
Staff works together to attend to the special needs of patients and to keep family members informed. A specially trained team of cardiac nurse specialists, physical therapists, cardiac rehabilitation specialists and respiratory care practitioners work together to care for each patient.
Because of its emphasis on care of critical patients, the CardioVascular Institute was recently recognized with a prestigious Beacon Award for Excellence by the American Association of Critical Care Nurses.
Registered nurses are the primary caregiver, but they work closely with the physicians. The nurses administer medications, perform physical assessments and coordinate any other care needed. The time of doctor visits is determined by each individual physician.
