Q. Why can't I consume caffeine prior to my Stress Test?
A. Caffeine can interfere with the medication used in your test and result in the test not being accurate.
Q. Why can't I eat four hours prior to my test?
A. Eating just prior to your test may leave food in the stomach that will interfere with imaging of your heart.
Q. How long will I be on the treadmill?
A. Most of the time you will only be on the treadmill 5 - 10 minutes depending on the heart rate and conditioning.
Q. Will I have to run on the treadmill?
A. Most of the time we can achieve the desired results within the first three stages (9 minutes), which are all walking stages. Stage four and above may require that the patient jog.
