Minimally Invasive Surgery at NCMC
North Colorado Medical Center was the first in Colorado to be named a Center of Excellence for Minimally Invasive Surgery by the American Institute of Minimally Invasive Surgery. This designation recognizes our high quality work in areas such as gynecology, urology and general surgery.
What is minimally invasive surgery?
Unlike traditional surgery, minimally invasive procedures involve no large incisions. Instead, extremely small incisions are made – only large enough for surgeons use micro-technology to view the inside of your body. After the procedure, it takes only a stitch or two to close up each of the incisions.
- Faster recovery
