Robotic & Minimally Invasive Surgery at NCMC

coupleNCMC's Division of Robotics & Minimally Invasive Surgery provides the latest in technology to make sure our surgical patients have the best possible outcomes.

North Colorado Medical Center is the first in Colorado to be named a Center of Excellence for Minimally Invasive Surgery by the American Institute of Minimally Invasive Surgery. This designation recognizes our high quality work in areas such as gynecology, urology and general surgery.

What is minimally invasive surgery?
Unlike traditional surgery, minimally invasive procedures involve no large incisions. Instead, extremely small incisions are made – only large enough for the insertion of miniscule cameras equipped with microscopes and tiny fiber-optic flashlights.

Surgeons use this micro-technology to view the inside of your body on a high-definition monitor. After the procedure, it takes only a stitch or two to close up each of the incisions.

Many minimally invasive surgeries are performed with surgical robots, giving surgeons extremely precise access to the surgical site.

Surgeons at NCMC use advanced techniques for minimally invasive surgery for a variety of surgical procedures with many benefits to patients.
