Every birth is a unique experience, and at North Colorado Medical Center, our highly skilled and compassionate staff at the Monfort Family Birth Center provides comprehensive specialty care (PDF), family education and support.
The Monfort Family Birth Center is staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week by a team of physicians from North Colorado Family Medicine who are experienced in labor and delivery. In addition, we welcome Midwives and Doulas.
Premature and special needs babies can be cared for in our Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). Our specially trained care providers, which include neonatologist consultants from Children’s Hospital in Denver, neonatal nurse practitioners, neonatal nurses, lactation consultants, care coordinators and development care specialist, provide specialized care in a nurturing, family centered environment.
Our Care Coordinators – a team of registered nurses and social workers -- work together with women with high-risk pregnancies or premature labor, infants with complex medical conditions and families with complex medical and/or social issues. They work with women, family members and physicians to assess care needs, provide information, set goals, and make referrals to specialists when needed. For additional information please call (970) 350-6525.
Our private rooms have a comfortable, home-like feeling, and there are options available throughout labor and birth.
Following birth, mothers and babies share a private room, with a home-like setting. Visiting hours are flexible so families can share in the happy occasion.
As a special treat, our specially trained massage therapists are available to provide massages to new mothers after delivery.
And each day between 2 – 4 p.m., our staff turns down the lights and takes a “Mommy Moment” and serves fresh-baked cookies to allow new parents to spend time with their newborn without interruptions.
