Information About Your Stay at Sterling Regional MedCenter

Billing and Insurance
If you have questions regarding your bill, please call (866) 640-3600. Contact your insurance company for questions regarding your coverage or your policy.

Dining
The SRM cafe is located conveniently for guests near the Main Entrance, food service is available the following times:

Breakfast   7:00 a.m to 9:30 a.m.
Lunch        11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Closed weeknights and weekends

Visiting Hours
We believe that family and friends play an important part in a patient's recovery and encourage visits with patients.

Visiting Hours are 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily.

Snacks and Vending Machines
Snacks and beverages are available from vending machines located on the first floor across from the gift shop.  

Mobile Phones
The use of cellular phones and other wireless electronic devices is permitted in most areas of our hospital. The areas where cell phones are prohibited include the Emergency department treatment areas, pre-op or recovery rooms. Cell phones must be turned off in these areas.

Guest Wireless
Sterling Regional MedCenter and Banner Health Information Technology are pleased to provide Guest Wireless Services for our patients and their families. 

If you are interested in using the Guest Wireless Services, ask your nurse for a copy of Procedures for connecting to the Guest Wireless Network.

Chaplain Services
The Chapel is located on the first floor near the entrance to the lab.  It is always open for meditation or prayer. Contact your nurse if you are in need of spiritual care and would like to talk to the hospital chaplain.

Customer Services
Your care and satisfaction are of the highest importance to us. Please let your nurse know of any special needs you may have.

Gift Shop
The Gift Shop, located inside the main entrance, is operated and staffed by the Sterling Regional MedCenter Volunteers.  Whether looking for a get-well card or a specialty item, our gift shop has a variety of gifts including, candy, flowers, baby gifts, and plush stuffed animals.

Mail
Letters and packages will be delivered to your room by a hospital volunteer. Please address mail to: Sterling Regional MedCenter, 615 Fairhurst St., Sterling, CO 80751 and state that the recipient is a patient at Sterling Regional MedCenter. Mail that arrives after you have been discharged will be forwarded to your home.

Patient Financial Services
Patient Financial Services Representatives are available to help you understand the financial aspect of your visit. For insured patients, we will contact your insurance company and help you understand your benefits and how they apply to your visit.  We will also assist you in applying for financial assistance when appropriate. Patient Food
Patient meals are prepared with consideration of special dietary needs. Most patients will receive a daily menu to select appropriate foods. Tell your food service worker or nurse if you have a question about the meals you order.

Patient Satisfaction Surveys
Once you are at home, you may be contact to participate in a patient survey with regard to your stay at Sterling Regional MedCenter. Please take this opportunity to let us know how we have served you.

We continuously improve the care and services we provide to our patients and their families. It is our goal to provide you with "excellent" service. We compare ourselves to hospitals across the country and rely on you to let us know how we are doing.

Patient Valuables
The hospital cannot be responsible for lost or stolen valuables. Please send all jewelry and valuables home with a family member. For your convenience, a safe is available for certain items you cannot send home. Ask your nurse to assist in labeling eye glasses, denture cups, walkers, canes and wheelchairs.

Smoking
Sterling Regional MedCenter is a tobacco-free health care facility. Smoking is not permitted in any of the buildings on the campus. If you wish to smoke during your stay, please ask the nursing staff for designated locations.

Translation Services
If you are hearing impaired or need an interpreter or translator, please ask your nurse. Interpretation services are available 24 hours a day.

Visitor Waiting Areas
Family and friends are invited to wait for patients in the waiting areas located on both floors of the hospital.  Please do not leave children unattended in these areas.

Using the Telephone
Local calls can be made at any time by dialing 9 and the number.  All long-distance calls are the responsibility of the patient.  You many use a personal phone card or public pay phone available in the waiting area across from the cafeteria.

For your comfort, no outside calls will be sent to your room between 9 p.m. and 7 a.m.
