Sterling Regional MedCenter's cardiac rehabilitation program helps patients with heart conditions live healthier lives.
Our cardiac rehabilitation specialists tailors individual exercise and diet programs to meet each patient’s needs. Our goal is to improve each patient’s heart performance through exercise, a healthy diet, stress reduction and education. The cardiac rehabilitation program consists of two phases.
1. Inpatient Program - Phase I
For heart patients, cardiac rehabilitation may begin in the hospital with low level, progressive physical activity. Patient and their families will learn about heart disease and how to manage the patient’s care after he or she is discharged from the hospital.
2. Outpatient Program - Phase II
The outpatient program at Sterling Regional MedCenter, overseen by a Medical Director and a multidisciplinary team of health care professionals, provides self-monitoring skills and tools for a healthy lifestyle. The patient participates in monitored exercise sessions three times a week for up to 12 weeks. During that time, patients are provided with education on nutrition, exercise and stress management.
