Preparing for Surgery
At Sterling Regional MedCenter, we understand there are many details to address when planning for surgery. Please contact us with any questions at (970) 522-5720.
Family-Centered Patient Care
Our Surgical Care staff focuses on a proactive approach to quality patient care that includes communication and education. From the time the patient begins preparing for surgery through the time the patient is recovering, our team involves family members in discussions about care and treatment, to help ease any anxiety a patient may have.
Planning for discharge is just as important as planning for admission. We work with the patient during their stay to meet any discharge needs
An important aspect of surgical care is post procedure pain management. Our goal is to keep discomfort to an acceptable level so patients can rest and participate in therapy.
Your surgeon or CRNA will discuss the pain relief methods available. We use femoral blocks, sciatic blocks, inter-scalene blocks and epidurals to help manage pain.
