Welcome to medical staff services for Banner Churchill Community Hospital. Our goal is to provide you tools and information for practicing at Banner Churchill Community Hospital along with critical information about our policies and procedures.

Medical Staff Services
Responsibilities include assisting with regulatory compliance, credentialing, peer review, resident/student rotations, continuing medical education, committees, and maintaining current governing documents of the Medical Staff and Allied Health Staff, i.e. Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules & Regulations and Policies.

Physician Membership Minimum Qualifications:

  • License to practice in the State of Nevada (or obtain license before appointment to medical staff)
  • Graduation from accredited medical school or college of osteopathic medicine
  • Completion of three (3) years of post graduate training in a specialty or area corresponding to the privileges requested.
  • Must possess the requisite physical and mental health status to safely and competently perform the privileges requested.
  • Proof of current and valid malpractice insurance with coverage and policy limits of $1 Million / $3 Million
  • Current DEA Registration
  • Current State of Nevada Controlled Substance Registration
  • Current  applicable Resuscitation certifications as defined by privileges requested (can be obtained within 6 months of appointment to staff) 
  • Current clinical competence


Allied Health Professional Minimum Qualifications:

  • Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner
  • Completion of a formal accredited education program for PA or NP
  • Current certification from NCCPA, AANP or ANCC
  • Current unrestricted Nevada license
  • Current DEA license
  • Current Nevada Controlled Substance Registration and, if applicable,
  • Current DEA Registration
  • Current applicable Resuscitation Certifications as defined by privileges requested (can be obtained within 6 months of appointment to staff)
  • Evidence of adequate professional liability insurance secured either through the supervising physician or held by the


Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner:

  • Current  clinical competence as verified through references
  • No physical or mental health problem preventing him or her from exercising the privileges requested and granted.
  • Employment by or an agreement with a physician(s) currently appointed to the medical staff of the hospital to supervise the
  • Physician Assistant’s/Nurse Practitioner’s practice in the hospital


Certified Registered Nurse
Anesthetist:

  • Current Nevada license as a registered nurse (RN) with certification to practice as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA)
  • Graduation from a nurse anesthesia educational program accredited by the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists (AANA Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Education Program or its predecessor.
  • Current certification by AANA Council or current recertification by the Council on Recertification
  • Current BLS, ACLS, PALS certification (can be obtained within 6 months of appointment to staff)
  • Documentation of recent experience including the performance of at least 300 anesthetics in the last 24 months
  • Current clinical competence as verified through references
