Banner EMS first in state to transport blood products

(April 29, 2010) -- In the past, local patients requiring blood transfusions had to have the procedure done at Banner Churchill Community Hospital before transport to a hospital outside of Fallon. The Nevada State Health Division Office of Emergency Medical Systems has approved BCCH's Emergency Medical Service as the first EMS in the state to transport patients with blood and blood products being administered while performing an interfacility transfer.
