Meet one of our Volunteers

One of Werner Vinson’s first experiences at Banner Churchill Community Hospital was something most of us dread: being hospitalized.

But Vinson noted the compassionate care and personalized attention he received during his inpatient stay and he felt like this was something he wanted to be a part of. 

What really got his attention when volunteers with the hospitality cart would come in every day to offer personal items and snacks to him and his guest. 

Vinson had never thought of volunteering before.

“My whole attitude about helping others changed” Vinson says. “You don’t realize what an impact it makes on somebody until that somebody is you”.

Vinson has now been with the volunteer program for three years.

He is currently the lead coordinator of the physician’s clinic information desk, and hospitality cart.  Lourie Palmer, a Patient Financial Services senior representative, says he is a great asset. “Werner is so nice and kind.  He is aware of all the people around him and goes out of his way to make their day.  I just love him.”
