TORRINGTON, WY (April 10, 2009) --
The 28 bed Alzheimer’s Care Center attached to Goshen Care Center is nearing completion. The Unit was first proposed about five years ago, but didn’t become a reality until construction began in June 2008. Now the 4.3 million dollar addition is expected to be up and running in June 2009.
The Unit will follow the Eden Model, which stresses a family and home like atmosphere. The Unit will be secure, with enclosed wandering areas both indoors and out. There will be an open nutrition center, as well as special activities areas.
The Alzheimer’s Unit currently has a waitlist of over 20 people, as it is the only care center of its kind in the area.
Hiring has begun for all positions.
The Goshen Care Center is a 75 bed unit which is divided into three halls with 25 residents. We provide private and semi-private rooms. The Goshen Care Center is normally at 98% full capacity. The Goshen Care Center has been at its current location since 1998. They are fully staffed 24 hours a day with RN’s, LPN’s and C.N.A.’s to provide our residents with daily assistance and medical care. Our services include: meals, laundry, physical therapy, activities, beauty shop and a Medical Director.
