Goshen Care Center is our 103-bed, Medicaid-approved long-term nursing care home accredited by the Joint Commission.
We have a 28-bed Alzheimer's unit to provide special dementia care to Torrington and surrounding areas.
At Goshen Care Center, we are guided by the "Choices Philosophy", which is to maintain health, promote resident rights, and foster self-care when possible while providing loving support and a warm, homelike environment.
Our Alzheimer's unit takes into account the special needs of Alzheimer’s patients. It has been engineered to be quieter than the adjoining long-term care center; our carpeting has a subdued pattern that won’t trigger dizziness in patients when they look down.
Our rooms have been designed to make it easy for patients to move around in, and have patients’ photographs on the doors to make it easier for them to identify their own room.
Our courtyard and garden are secure against the patients’ urge to wander.
From nursing to housekeeping, from activities to dietary instruction, we are dedicated to our residents' well-being and happiness.
