History of the Hospital

 

Since inception in the 1950s, Platte County Memorial Hospital and Nursing Home (PCMH), has been in a constant state of improvement. As services are needed in Platte County, PCMH, has always been able to meet those needs with facility additions and new services.

PCMH Timeline

  • 1955: Main PCMH building was constructed

  • 1965: The nursing home was built

  • 1977: An addition to the nursing home was built to accomodate Platte County's demand for more rooms

  • 1987: Nursing home activities area was added
               Intensive Care Unit constructed

  • 1990: Geringer Addition was added on to the main hospital building

  • 1993: Home Care services added

  • 1999: PCMH basement remodeled to create a thriving Outpatient Clinic and to make additional administrative offices

  • 2005-2007: PCMH will remodel the main floor care areas including:

    • OR
    • Labor and Delivery
    • Pharmacy
    • Radiology
    • Front Lobby
Currently, PCMH is a 25-bed Critical Access Hospital with a co-located 43-bed nursing home.

PCMH's commitment to Platte County's health care needs will not stop here. We will continue to improve and add services as the needs arise.
