Fair parade float welcomes Dr. Wilde

Crowds welcomed Dr. Wilde as he rode the float through downtown Worland

WORLAND, Wyo. (Aug. 5, 2011)-It looked like it might be a rainy day for a parade but only a few sprinkles fell before the Washakie County Fair Parade on Friday, Aug. 5.

Ken Seidel, husband of employee Teresa Seidel, pulled our float with his classic restored John Deere tractor.

Sew it- Grow it-Show was the 2011 theme, giving Washakie Medical Center the perfect opportunity to “show” the community our homegrown new family physician, Ben Wilde, D.O.

Plus, large printed banners on the float promoted Wyoming homegrown, Diane Noton, MD.  New to Wyoming, John Bramble, MD (radiologist) joined the parade fun by riding his four-wheeler.

To emphasize growing our own, our float showed Mason Fethkenher, Camp Healthcare student, in a desk studying a very large anatomy book. Younger kids dressed in scrub tops and played doctor treating baby dolls using stethoscopes, bandages, and syringes.

To keep with our tradition, many employees followed the float riding on their four-wheelers and handing out 500 popsicles, a great treat on a hot day.  The hospital didn’t win a prize for their float but if the children could vote I have no doubt it would be a landslide because popsicles beat hard candy, every time!
