Cancer Care Services
Washakie Medical Center strives to provide high quality, personalized cancer care services and keep your care close to home whenever possible.
Cancer prevention and early detection are emphasized by our health professionals through regular screenings and appointments as well as community outreach clinics, such as our laboratory’s annual PSA (prostate specific antigen) blood screening for prostate cancer.
Innovative technology makes it possible to diagnose many types of cancer, often in the early stages. Most of the diagnostics for cancer patients can be handled right on our hospital campus including digital mammography, ultrasound, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and a broad scope of laboratory tests.
When facing cancer treatment, Big Horn Basin residents may have to travel to a larger regional center for more advanced diagnostic, surgical or non-surgical care. To reduce patient and family travel time, many area specialists schedule monthly visits with patients at the WMC Outreach Clinic in Worland. In addition, our hospital offers many infusion treatments beneficial to cancer patients, including blood transfusions and pain management injections.
