Sports Medicine Program for Worland Student Athletes
Washakie Medical Center’s commitment to community support extends to Worland High School athletes, keeping them healthy and properly conditioned for their sport.
The rehabilitation team, family medicine providers and orthopedic surgeon have developed a sports medicine program to help these student athletes prevent injuries and receive appropriate treatment for sports injuries.
Rehabilitation therapists staff the Worland High School training room from 3:30-4:30 pm, Monday-Thursday and providers from the orthopedic and family clinic schedule regular weekly visits to the Worland High School. Student athletes benefit from immediate and convenient injury screenings and health education.
This support goes beyond the training room to the sidelines of many home games and local tournaments. Consultations by our sports medicine team cover a wide scope from advice on stretching techniques to stabilizing serious injuries. They also provide guidance on when to refer athletes to their primary care physician or emergency care.
This complimentary care of our Worland Warrior athletes allows them to play their best with less worrying about sports related injuries.
