Library Services
The Banner Arizona Libraries support the patient care, research and education mission of Banner Health by providing knowledge-based information resources and services to assist in clinical and administrative decision-making. Health professionals throughout Banner may access information services at any Banner facility by phone, fax, email, or in person.
The Banner Arizona Libraries make a variety of traditional and electronic resources available to Banner Employees on site and by providing access to the databases of the Arizona Health Information Network (AZHIN), among others. Affiliated health professionals may search these databases. Please contact your Banner Arizona library about password and access information.
Searches of the literature: library staff will perform online database searches for you, and provide your with training in the use of online databases, especially those available to Banner staff via the Digital Library. Call any Banner Arizona Library to request a search.
Microcomputer Learning Lab: each library has at least one microcomputer workstation provided for health professionals to search the literatures or check e-mail. The lab at BGSMC has 14 microcomputers (Mac and Windows) connected to the Internet and loaded with selected software to assist with creating presentations. The lab also provides scanners, cd+dvd burners, and PDA docking stations. Contact Frank Wallace for assistance. Frank is at (602) 239-2979.
The Family Learning Centers: each Banner Arizona facility provides specialized educational materials (books, pamphlets, media, periodicals) for people who wish to learn more about managing their own health and illness. Contact any Banner Arizona library for more information about this service and resource.
Books and journals circulation: each library maintains a collection of books, journals, a-v materials and other types of information provided to meet the information needs of that facility, and to aid efficient resource sharing across the System.
Interlibrary borrowing: materials not owned by Banner Arizona Libraries may be borrowed from other libraries for your use. Contact the library at your facility.
