Didactic Curriculum

A combined intern and resident morning report is held daily at each training site. Each one hour session is comprised of a didactic lecture followed by a presentation of an active teaching case. The didactic lectures form the basis of the program's curriculum, designed to run over a twelve month period. The curriculum covers all topics in internal medicine and the material presented in the Medical Knowledge Self-Assessment Program. A complimentary outpatient curriculum is reviewed bi-monthly in the outpatient clinic. In addition to morning report, a weekly grand rounds is held as well as a daily noon conference. Other conferences that the residents participate in are morbidity and mortality conference, clinical pathology conference, and the evidence based medicine conference. Journal club is held monthly both on and off the hospital campus.
