Full-Time Faculty:
Alex C McLaren, MD serves as the Program Director for the Banner Good Samaritan Medical Center Residency Program in Orthopaedic Surgery. After graduating from the School of Medicine (1977) in Queen's University at Kingston, Canada, Dr. McLaren completed his orthopaedic residency at the University of Western Ontario (1982) and his fellowship  at the University of Southern California(1983). During subsequent faculty/staff appointments at The University of Western Ontario and at Maricopa Medical Center, Dr. McLaren has been involved in teaching and administration of educational programs for orthopaedic residents and medical students. His clinical interests include orthopaedic infections, revision arthroplasty and complex musculoskeletal trauma.

Volunteer Faculty:
The core element of the Banner Good Samaritan Medical Center Residency Program in Orthopaedic Surgery is the commitment of some thirty or so volunteer teaching faculty, who freely donate their time and private practice caseload to benefit the resident training program. Clearly, success will be founded upon the ability of residents to establish open rapport with the faculty and to dedicate their energies to the care of their patients.
