For the 2007-8 academic year, we will accept applications through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS). At the time of application review, the content will be evaluated within the context of what this program is looking for among its trainees – well-grounded men and women who demonstrate a broad and deep medical knowledge, an aptitude for orthopaedic disorders, and an unflagging work ethic founded on the team approach to actively learn and deliver professional, empathetic patient care.
Qualified applicants that fit well with the program will be offered the opportunity of a personal interview, the completion of which is a requirement for an applicant to be accept into the program. Those applicants who are offered an opportunity to interview will be contacted, at their primary e-mail address offered on the application. Additional information about the interview process will be included in that e-mailing. Basically, each interview begins with a gathering with some of current Banner residents, followed the next day by a series of informational and interview sessions with the program director, teaching faculty, and residents. Please understand that only a limited number of personal interviews can be granted.
This is a rectangular residency program which will graduate two residents per year. There will be 10 categorical residents when full enrollment is completed. Full enrollment will be accomplished by adding two categorical PGY-1 residents each year. The first residents will be ready to graduate in 2012. We do not offer any non-designated preliminary resident positions.
