North Colorado Medical Center is located in the eastern section of Greeley, Colo. The residency offices and clinic are located two blocks west of the Medical Center.
The City of Greeley, the county seat of Weld County, is a culturally diverse community with a population of approximately 89,000. Located on the high plains of Colorado, Greeley offers the energy of a thriving university town in the midst of a county that ranks first in all counties east of the Rocky Mountains in value of agricultural products produced annually.

Weather
Greeley has a temperate and comfortable climate. The sun shines 315 days in the average year. Snowfall averages 33 inches and total precipitation 11.2 inches per year.
Entertainment and Recreation
Performing arts and cultural activities are plentiful and take place in a wide variety of settings. The Union Colony Civic Center books both regional and national talent including the Greeley Philharmonic Orchestra and Greeley Symphony.
The University of Northern Colorado has nationally known theater and music programs and hosts an annual Jazz Festival, and several community theaters also offer a selection of activities. Local festivals such as the Arts Picnic, the Semana Latina, and many more add to the diverse flavor of Greeley. The Greeley Rocky Mountain Independence Stampede held in late June through July 4, is one of the largest professional rodeo events in the country.
Activities such as biking, cross country skiing, fishing, golfing, seasonal North Colorado Family Medicine softball teams, and many others make Greeley a destination for outdoor enthusiasts. Greeley also offers an extensive parks system with some of the highest green-space per capita rates in the country.
In addition to activities such as family picnics, volleyball and running, there is a Frisbee Gold Course and a Little League Park. There are a number of work out facilities located throughout the city, including the The City of Greeley Recreation Center and the Family Funplex, which offer an Olympic size swimming pool, racquetball and handball courts, exercise equipment, and many organized team sports and classes.
Education
The University of Northern Colorado (UNC) with approximately 12,000 students, is considered as "The Best College Experience in Colorado", and is known for the strength of its Nursing, Education, and Music schools. Other UNC health professional training programs, including gerontology, health education, communication disorders, biostatistics and public health, further enrich the professional environment in which the residency is immersed. Some residents have elected to participate in the Masters of Public Health Program while in residency. The University of Colorado (Denver and Boulder) and Colorado State University (Fort Collins) are also close enough to provide educational opportunities for residents and their families.
Housing
Housing is available in a wide price range, including rentals. Many residents purchase a home while in Greeley. Residents are required to live within 15 minutes' travel time to the hospital, or agree to be available within 15 minutes for the deliveries of private OB patients and when on-call. The limited traffic in Greeley allows residents to live in almost any area within the town or on the outskirts of Greeley, and still meet this travel time requirement.
The Region
Greeley is ideally situated to take advantage of the best that Colorado has to offer-from the high plains to the Rocky Mountains. Residents can spend days off hiking in Pawnee Buttes (45 minutes), exploring Estes Park and The Rocky Mountain National Park (one hour), and skiing in the Colorado Rockies (2.5 hours). Camping, fishing, hiking, and cross-country skiing can be accessed via Poudre Canyon, only a 45 minute drive from Greeley.
For those with more metropolitan pursuits in mind, Denver is just one hour south of Greeley, and offers premier shopping, dining, sporting events and cultural opportunities. Fort Collins (30 minutes) and Boulder (one hour) are also easy trips, even for an evening. Denver International Airport (DIA) is only an hour from Greeley.
