Geriatric Fellowship
The Banner Good Samaritan Internal Medicine Geriatric Fellowship Program is accredited by the American Board of Internal Medicine.
It is a one-year program that accepts up to two fellows each year.
The Fellowship is based at Banner Good Samaritan Medical Center, but includes month-long rotations at:
- Banner Alzheimer’s Institute
- Senior Horizon’s inpatient Psychiatry unit
- an acute inpatient Rehabilitation Unit
- Hospice of the Valley’s inpatient and outpatient locations
We also provide rotations at the Carl T. Hayden VA Medical Center in rheumatology, home health and the VA Nursing Home. Other rotations include behavioral psychology, inpatient consults, and wound care.
Fellows also have experiences at Alzheimer’s assisted living facilities, a geriatric continuity clinic and geriatric assessment. Currently, there are no evening-call responsibilities. For additional information, please contact program director Gary Salzman, MD.
