For more than a decade, U.S. News and World Report has recognized Banner Good Samaritan Medical Center as one of America's best hospitals. The OBGYN Department was ranked in the top 50 OBGYN departments for 2006-2012. In 2012, Banner Good Sam was ranked as the number-one hospital in Phoenix.
Banner Good Sam's Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency program, established in 1951, helps new physicians make the transition from student to practitioner by providing the support they need to develop clinical competence, relationship building with patients, methods for life-long learning and health management experience.
All major subspecialties are represented and the faculty includes 16 perinatologists and educators, many of whom are nationally recognized, as well as three gynecologic oncologists, four urogynecologists and four reproductive endocrinologists. This fully accredited program accepts eight categorical residents each year for a total of 32 residents in the four-year program.
