Core Curriculum
This program has an "Education First" philosophy, on the ward, in the clinics, in the operating room and in conference.
All residents attend Core Conference held in protected time from 1 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday afternoons.
The core conference curriculum covers a comprehensive program of annually recurring topics in anatomy, basic science, clinical sciences, clinical skills and administrative orthopedics.
Grand Rounds are held monthly at 4:30 p.m. on the second Wednesday of the month, following the core conferences.
Journal Club is held twice monthly following the core conferences on the first and third Wednesdays of the month. At Journal Club, there is discussion about specific topics on study design and statistics and critical analysis of journal publications.
Additionally each service conducts rotation-specific conferences.
