This program has an "Education First" philosophy on the ward, in the clinics, in the operating room and in conference.
All residents attend Core Conferences, held in protected time from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m., on Wednesday afternoons.
The core conference curriculum covers a comprehensive program of
(bi)annually recurring topics in:
- Basic science
- Clinical acumen
- Clinical skills
- Administrative orthopedics
Grand Rounds are held monthly at 4:30 p.m. on the second Wednesday of the month.
Journal Club is held twice monthly at 4:30 pm on the first and third Wednesdays of the month. At Journal Club, there is discussion about specific topics on study design and statistics and critical analysis of journal publications.
Additionally, each service conducts rotation-specific conferences.
