Banner Good Samaritan Psychiatry Residency

Psychiatry Residency Program
How to Apply

There are 20 positions in our fully accredited, four-year Psychiatry Residency Program. Our program's manageable size fosters a genuine spirit of cooperation, participation and collegiality between residents and faculty to ensure an optimal learning experience.

Banner Good Samaritan participates in the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP) and PGY-1 and PGY-2 applicants are expected to apply through Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS). Applicants who plan to enter at the PGY-2 level must have completed one year of appropriate training after receiving their medical degree.

PGY-1

PGY-1 applicants should submit their application packet through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS). Upon review of completed applications, we will contact suitable candidates to arrange a visit with us. In consideration of their travel expenses, we will include a flyer listing hotels in the nearby area which offer reduced rates to the applicants we will be interviewing. Our interview day is personalized to include a series of one-on-one interviews with the Program Director, key faculty and residents, lunch and a tour of the Banner Good Samaritan campus.
