The SHRI-CORE Orthopedic Research Labs are a joint partnership between Banner Sun Health Research Institute and The CORE Institute.
Banner Sun Health Research Institute has a distinguished record as a center for excellence in various medical research areas including Alzheimer's and Parkinson's diseases. The alliance of the two institutes creates a center for orthopedic excellence not only for greater Phoenix, but as a national model for collaborative research.
The two labs housed at The CORE Institute include a motion-analysis laboratory and a biomechanical testing facility. The labs are staffed with bioengineers and scientists with specialties in an array of biomechanical areas. Bioengineering graduate students and medical students gain training in the various orthopedic research areas and assist in all aspects of the labs.
CORE physicians and surgeons round out the team of researchers, bringing their expertise in orthopedics, including surgical procedures and device design. This provides a vibrant research community for orthopedic and biomechanical research and clinical studies.
