Banner Sun Health Research Institute is dedicated to the study of aging and age-related diseases such as Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, arthritis and prostate cancer.
These are devastating illnesses that affect millions of people. Because many such disorders often uniquely afflict human beings and acquiring tissue samples from living people is seldom possible, progress toward finding cures critically dependent on the study of tissue samples from the deceased victims of the disorders. In addition, comparisons must be made to tissue samples from people of about the same age, who did not have such conditions.
For these reasons, many members of our community have joined us in our scientific efforts by contributing tissue for research after they die. Just as they have done, we are hopeful that you, too, will consider enrollment in our Brain and Body Donation Program for yourself, or for someone over whom you have Power of Attorney.
Such donations are essential for scientific studies capable of bringing hope to others in the future.
