Positron Emission Tomography (PET)

PET is a highly specialized form of medical imaging that displays chemical processes taking place inside the human body. Routinely used by cancer specialists, PET is currently the only technology available which can provide detailed pictures identifying whether organs and tissues are diseased or healthy. PET images can accurately determine the location, extent, and growth rate of malignant tumors, and help physicians differentiate healthy tissue from unhealthy tissue.
