Question: I just found out I am pregnant and was told to begin taking prenatal vitamins. What is the advantage of taking these vitamins?
Answer: Prenatal vitamins are special for a pregnant woman. They have vitamins and minerals that provide extra nutrition for your body and may help your baby to stay healthy while developing inside of you.
Your doctor will give you a prescription for these vitamins or tell you the best vitamins to buy at the store.
Try to remember that eating healthy food during your pregnancy is just as important as taking prenatal vitamins. So, eat lean meats, fish in moderation, vegetables, fruit, whole grains and take your prenatal vitamin every day of your pregnancy.
