What is music therapy?
Music Therapy is an established health care profession that uses music to address physical, emotional, cognitive, and social needs of individuals of all ages. Music therapy improves the quality of life for children and adults with disabilities or illnesses. Music therapy interventions can be designed to:

A board-certified professional music therapist holds a bachelor's degree or higher in music therapy from a college or university program approved by the American Music Therapy Association. The music therapist is credentialed by the Certification Board of Music Therapists.
