Apple Oat Bake
2 baking apples peeled cored and sliced
1½ Tbsp. sugar
½ tsp. orange zest
¼ tsp. apple pie spice
½ Tbsp. water
1 Tbsp. quick cooking rolled oats
Combine all ingredients together in a large mixing bowl. Oven: Preheat oven to 350 °. Pour mixture into a medium-sized baking dish, cover with foil and place in the center of the oven. Bake until apples are soft and juices are bubbling- about 45 minutes.
Microwave: Pour mixture into a shallow container. Cover with lid or plastic wrap and microwave for 10-15 minutes or until apples are soft and juices are bubbling. Stir half way through. Serve warm.
Makes 2 servings. Serving size: ½ cup
