High Risk Multiple Birth

Since 1980, the number of multiple births in the United States has increased steadily.  Part of the reason lies with increasing use of fertility assistance, which frequently results in births of triplets, quadruplets and even quintuplets. 

Expecting more than one child can present special challenges and issues during pregnancy and birth. Banner Health obstetricians and pediatricians have extensive experience in working with mothers and multiple births.  In fact, Banner Good Samaritan Medical Center has delivered more high-order multiples – triplets, quadruplets and quintuplets – than any other hospital in the world.

Expecting multiples and their birth can feel overwhelming, but Banner Health’s physicians and nurses, along with your own support network, can reassure you that you and your babies will receive the care you need.  Level II and level III neonatal intensive care is available, as is level III perinatal care.
