Banner Health is committed to supporting the neurological needs of the communities it serves.
In recognition of National Stroke Awareness Month in May, select Banner Health facilities host annual Stroke Check screening events. These free community screening events assess attendees’ individual risk factors for having a stroke.
Several risk factors that may increase the likelihood of having a stroke can be reduced through diet, exercise and lifestyle changes.
Stroke Check events assess such risk factors as:
- High Blood Pressure
- Tobacco Use
- Physical Inactivity or Obesity
- Heart Disease
- Blood Disorders.
