Research and Clinical Trials
Banner Health is dedicated to providing the most advanced care to our neurology patients, as well as fostering clinical and medical advancements in neurosciences.
Sponsorship and participation in research programs at the local, regional and national levels ensures Banner patients have access to up-to-date trials for neurological treatment.
Banner Health researchers piloted landmark PET (positron emission tomography) that reported the earliest brain changes in people at genetic risk for Alzheimer’s disease -- almost 50 years before the likely onset of memory and thinking problems. The study results were published in the New England Journal of Medicine. The same researchers lead the Banner Alzheimer's Institute, which is involved in clinical trials.
Banner Sun Health Research Institute, world-renowned for its research into age-related disorders, offers clincial trials in Alzheimer's and Parkinson's.
