Banner Health is committed to caring for all children and provides Pediatric Intensive Care Units (PICUs) at some hospitals to support care for critically ill children, from infants through adolescents.

PICUs include all the specialized monitoring equipment found in adult Intensive Care Units while providing family-centered care in child-friendly environments that puts children and their families at ease.
The PICU care team can include doctors, nurses, respiratory therapists, dieticians, social workers and child life specialists. At Banner Children's Hospital, pediatric intensivists are available at all times if a child needs help.
